This proverb is often used to illustrate a person who forgets where he/she come from (e.g. hometown, family, heritage, etc.)
This illustration is about the rich man forgot about his past that he is poor, and now he doesn’t want to look his past and he hate the poor side of him. He forgeting because of poor situation before he become rich right now.
